Advance implementation of state aid schemes in Thessaly

Following the devastating Storm Daniel that hit Thessaly and surrounding areas a year ago, the government activated state aid through the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection for households, businesses and farms.

The aid covers compensation for damaged household goods, agricultural losses, and business damages, as well as housing assistance for residents whose homes were deemed unfit for use.

According to an official statement, around 76,500 inspections have been carried out in affected areas, and 260 million euros has been disbursed to eligible recipients in Thessaly and nearby regions.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that, considering the available fiscal space, the government will complete a key support scheme and advance two major initiatives to expedite aid and further support those impacted by the storm.
