The western Turkish province of İzmir is not only about sea, sun and sand, it also offers a diverse range of options from health centers to food festivals, İzmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu has told the Hürriyet Daily News in an interview. 

The number of visitors to the Ivan Vazov House Museum in Sopot has reached 40 000 people after the creation of the tourist route "In the Steps of Vazov and his Heroes". This was said by Stefan Filchev, director of the museum, for FOCUS Radio - Plovdiv.

Turkey's struggling tourism sector wants to give a boost to the number of Turks traveling within the country and thus increase the share of local tourists in total numbers.

Tourism arrivals from abroad and revenues posted a yearly decline over the first two months of the year, according to provisional figures presented on Friday by the Bank of Greece.

It has a fair share in GDP but is also important for the development of the country's peripheral regions, said Minister of Tourism Stela Baltova who presented data about the sector in 2016, according to BNR.

Incoming tourism has got off to a negative start in 2017, according to data on air, land and sea arrivals and total revenues as reported on Wednesday by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
