Turkey's Net Holding has signed a casino management agreement with Casino Avala d.o.o to operate a casino in Budva, Montenegro, the company announced in a written statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) late on Dec. 14. 

The agreement will be for five years, while the casino space covered by the deal is 2,000 square meters in total, according to the statement. 

Turkey plans to privatize the country's national lottery (Milli Piyango) by the end of this year, said the deputy president of the Privatization Authority, Ahmet Aksu. 

The story happened on the other side of the pond, but its indirect relevance with cash-strapped Greece is noteworthy. Danny Chasteen was the ‘unlucky’ man to win the lottery in the State of Illinois.

Vulovic stepped down on Thursday after one of the numbers in the winning combination was shown during the televised draw, sparking allegations that the numbers had been decided in advance.

He said he was quitting because it was his "moral obligation".

The Higher Public Prosecutor in Belgrade on Wednesday ordered the interior ministry to collect information which would establish whether fraud had been committed during a televised lottery draw earlier in the week.

The problem arose when during a National Lottery live broadcast on Tuesday night, when a graphic on the screen showed the number 21 instead of 27.

Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet ?im?ek said on April 15 the country's national lottery privatization tender process will probably continue with the second highest bidder, rather than giving further time to the top bidder to sign a deal.

Turkey’s Supreme Board of Privatization has approved the privatization of the operating rights of the national lottery, Milli Piyango, to Net Şans-Hitay consortium for up to 10 years, according to a statement issued in the Official Gazette on Aug. 29.

Four companies or groups have qualified in the preliminary tender for the right to operate Turkey’s national lottery, Milli Piyango, Turkey’s Privatization Board said in a written statement May 28.

OPAP subsidiary Ellinika Lachia SA announced on Wednesday the instant lottery’s return to the Greek market under the name “Scratch.”
