"Russian MiGs could be here in October - but will not fly"

Military analyst Aleksandar Radic says there are indications that the MiG-29 jets from Russia will arrive in October.

"Moscow says they will arrive - it means they will arrive. All the bureaucratic obstacles have been overcome, and I believe they will arrive in October," he told Novi Magazin, and added:

Shugaev: Belgrade's interest in S-300s "under review"

Russia plans to finalize the delivery of MiG-29 fighter jets to Serbia by the end of 2017.

Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Director Dmitry Shugaev said this on Thursday.

"The deliveries have not yet started. Work is being done to that end in line with the plan, agreed on with our partners," he told Sputnik during the Army 2017 Forum.

"The project for the purchase of a new fighter aircraft for the needs of the Bulgarian Air Force should by no means be dropped," Bulgaria's President Roumen Radev said on 21st of August during a visit in Burgas, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

According to the head of State, MIG-29, no matter how good maneuverability it has, does not provide modern combat capabilities.

No Deadline for Russian T-72 Tanks, Armored Vehicles Delivery

Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin told Sputnik on Saturday he expects Russia's military aid package to Serbia consisting, in particular, of 30 T-72s tanks and 30 BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles, to be delivered next year with no specific deadline fixed.

Serbia expects that the MiG-29 deliveries will happen right on time, the minister noted.
