BANGUI/BELGRADE - Serbian Armed Forces troops have taken part in a military parade staged at the M'Poko International Airport in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR), to mark the declaration of full operational capabilities of the UN peacekeeping mission in the country.

BELGRADE - Chief-of-staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Ljubisa Dikovic has visited the members of the Serbian army engaged in the UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus.

During his visit to Cyprus on Monday, Dikovic said that the Serbian army members are performing all tasks within this UN multinational operation in a highly professional way.

BELGRADE - The Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China extended an official invitation to the Serbian Defense Ministry and Armed Forces to take part in the celebrations of 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II.

The Defense Ministry stated in a release that Beijing will hold a military parade on the occasion.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Chief of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic conferred in Belgrade on Friday on the readiness and modernization of the Serbian Armed Forces (VS), noting that the campaign against the VS will not manage to shake the trust it enjoys with the citizens.

SOFIA/BELGRADE - Serbian Armed Forces troops are participating in the Platinum Lion military exercise in Bulgaria alongside US, Bulgarian and Romanian colleagues.

The exercise, held from January 12 through 23 at the Novo Selo training range, involves 30 Serbian Armed Forces troops, as well as over 300 members of the US, Bulgarian and Romanian armed forces.

BELGRADE - Commander of the EU mission to the Central African Republic Brigadier General Jean Marc Bacquet has commended the Serbian Armed Forces medical staff deployed to that country on their efforts to build peace.

BELGRADE - Thirty-three members of the Serbian Armed Forces departed for Lebanon on Thursday to join the Italian contingent of the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission, the Italian Embassy in Belgrade released in a statement.

PANCEVO - The Armed Force of the Russian Federation will donate 10 military parachutes to the Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The protocol on donation was signed in Pancevo on Wednesday by Special Brigade Chief of Staff Miroljub Cubic and Russian Defense Attaché Valery Volkov.

BELGRADE - Serbia's Chief of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic and Italy's Commander of the Joint Operations Command Lieutenant General Marco Bertolini have met in Belgrade to discuss cooperation between the two armies.
