WW2 veterans receive Russian medals

BELGRADE -- 16 Second World War veterans from Belgrade, former members of the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia (NOV), have received Russian medals.

The medals, given by the Russian president, were presented to the veterans in a ceremony in the Russian embassy in Belgrade late on Thursday.

Ukraine’s interior minister said on July 5 that most pro-Russian rebels and their top commander had fled their main eastern stronghold in what would be Kiev’s biggest success of the nearly three-month campaign.
