The Christmas Tree in Sofia will Shine its Lights This Friday, November 30

On November 30, 2018 (Friday) in the park in front of the National Palace of Culture, the lights of the festive Christmas tree of Sofia will be lit. 

Christmas lights on the tree will be turned on at 19:00 local time (EET).

Starting 17:00, a series of concerts and musical performances will take place on a stage put up next to the tree. 

Bulgarian Kinomania Film Festival Features over 50 Hit Movies from Around the World

The festival will be held from 15 to 30 November

The magic of cinema will take over Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna in the coming weeks. The 32nd edition of the Kinomania Festival will feature more than 50 hit films from around the world, reports TransmediumNews. 

Limited Access to the Building of National Palace of Culture from April 17 to 20

Access to the building of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) will be limited from 17th to 20th April, the National Palace of Culture said on 16th of April. The measure is due to high-level events from the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, which will take place in the building.

45-Year-Old Bulgarian Citizen Accused of Bomb Threats in the Capital

The National Palace of the Culture (one of the most important buildings for the meetings scheduled to take place during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU) was evacuated on 12th of January over a bomb threat. After several bomb alerts in the capital the police found the perpetrator. 

This is a 45-year-old Bulgarian citizen who is on the territory of an EU country.

The Traffic Restrictions in Sofia for the EU Presidency Start on January 10th

The restrictions on the movement in Sofia due to the events of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU start on January 10th. Then the measures will affect the area around the Ivan Vazov National Theater, where on January 11 will be the official opening of the Bulgarian presidency. The normal movement will be restored on January 12th.
