The 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival commenced on Thursday, promising a total of 270 feature-length and short film screenings across the northern port city accompanied by podcasts, workshops, art shows, parties and more.

Τhe Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on Tuesday presented legendary Greek basketball player Nikos Galis with an honorary doctorate in sports for his contributions to sports, culture, and society.

Galis is credited with raising interest in basketball among the Greek public and inspiring younger generations to take up the sport. 

The Thessaloniki Concert Hall (tch.gr) presents Piandaemonium, an orchestra comprising six pianos and 12 players, who will be performing a selection of compositions by Greek and foreign greats, ranging from Nikos Skalkottas and John Cage to Sergei Prokofiev.

Greek political life has registered several achievements which could even be considered world records.
