Former President Nikolic denies he plans to form new party

Former Serbian President and former SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic has denied that he is thinking about establishing a new movement or political party.

Nikolic's comments for the daily Vecernje Novosti came in the wake of media speculations that he might do that - given that he missed the Serbian Progressive Party's "9th birthday party," organized in Belgrade on Saturday.

President won't rule out early parliamentary vote in 2018

In an interview with the daily Vecernje Novosti, President Aleksandar Vucic would not rule out rule out the possibility of early parliamentary elections.

According to the article set to be published on Tuesday, he said that if the opposition presented valid reasons, elections could be held next year.

Russian defense minister could visit Belgrade in October

Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu could visit Belgrade on Oct. 20, while there is a possibility that "the promised" Russian MiGs will arrive before him.

At least that is what the daily Vecernje Novosti claims, adding that the details and date of Shoigu's visit will be determined on September 29, when the Serbian minister of foreign affairs, Ivica Dacic, is traveling to Moscow.
