Türkiye ranks 2nd in salmon production in world
Salmon production in Türkiye exceeded 190,000 tons in 2022, as the country ranked second in the world after Iran, the statistics by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has revealed.
While Iran produced nearly 194,000 tons of salmon, over 1 million tons were produced in 77 countries, the FAO's report stated.

A restaurant in the Black Sea province of Tokat is serving an unusual and novel type of döner kebab made entirely of salmon fish.
Döner kebabs are usually made of meat or chicken and cooked on a vertical rotisserie.
Thief from Montana Area Drained a Dam and Took over 600 kg of Fish
Unique theft has occurred in the village of Buzovec, Montana, police said.
A thief first drained the dam in the village owned by Valchedram Municipality and then stole 669 kg of fish. The signal was filed on April 17 by a NAFA-Montana employee.
Piraeus restaurant fails health inspection
Health authorities seized a total 104 kilograms of fish Thursday after checks at a restaurant in Piraeus and a street vendor.
According to reports, the fish, including anchovies, sardines, cod and seabream, did not meet proper health standards and certifications.
