Bomb blasts rock restive Nigerian city of Maiduguri: Army

Three bomb blasts on Sept.20 rocked the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, the stronghold of Boko Haram Islamists, the army said, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

"There were three improvised explosive devices explosions at Gomari and Ajilari general area in Maiduguri at about 7:21 pm (1821 GMT)," military spokesman Sani Usman said in a statement.    

Wrong policy in place in curfew-hit southeastern town, HDP co-chair says

A delegation from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), including its co-chair and deputies, who were denied entry into the southeastern town of Cizre, where the citizens have been living under a curfew for eight days, returned to neighboring Diyarbak?r on Sept. 11 after holding their party group meeting there. 

First video released of abducted Turkish workers in Baghdad

A Shiite militia group that abducted 18 Turkish workers on Sept. 2 has released a video of them for the first time, reading the names of the abducted workers and a list of the group's demands, Al Jazeera Türk has reported.

The group calling itself the "Death Squads," listed its conditions to release the workers, addressing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.
