The 35th Athens Authentic Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 12. The event, which includes a total of 7 races, will result in the implementation of traffic diversions and road closures.

Restrictions will start coming into effect Friday and Saturday on several key roads ahead of the Athens Marathon on Sunday when much of the city center will be closed to traffic.

Commuters were in for a headache in downtown Athens on Tuesday as the Olympic Torch relay was leading to the closure of key streets in the city center.

Parts of downtown Athens near the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) and sections of the national highway linking the capital to the Peloponnesian town of Sparta will be intermittently closed off to traffic on Saturday for the 29th Spartakiada.

Composer, singer and master lyra player Psarantonis, a cult figure in Greek music, is slated to perform at Athens's Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) on Tuesday, October 3. A video showing a husband physically abusing is wife during an open air concert at the Panathenaic Stadium (Marble stadium) in Athens has gone viral on social media. The large man can be seen in a verbal altercation with his wife before violently pushing her down the stairs and slapping her.

The Athens municipal authority and Traffic Police will be closing off roads around the Panathenaic (Kallimarmaro) Stadium on Wednesday evening for a major concert.
