Group briefly occupies SYRIZA office in Patras
A group of self-styled anarchists briefly occupied the office of ruling SYRIZA in the town of Patras in western Greece on Friday.
The group hanged a banner from the office on the corner of Gounaris and Al. Ypsilantou Streets, denouncing last week's evacuation of two squats in Athens by police.
They also distributed leaflets before they ended their symbolic sit-in.

Two Environmental Assessments approved for hydrocarbons research in W. Greece
The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy approved the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments for hydrocarbons research in two areas in Western Greece. This way the Parliament can now approve the activation of the contracts for Aitoloakarnania and Northwestern Peloponnese.

Hail and heavy rainfalls disrupt traffic in Peloponnese (photos)
Many sections of the Patras-Pyrgos national highway in the Peloponnese have been flooded due to the heavy rain, with a large part of the road covered in hail. It is the second day that the region of Ilia in the Peloponnese is experiencing heavy rainfalls, while areas in the Kampos plain are covered in snow.
Young migrants brawl at Patras accommodation center
A brawl broke out late Thursday between young migrants at an accommodation center for unaccompanied minors in Patras, western Greece.
According to the Praksis NGO, which has undertaken the operation of the center, the fight involved 15 teenagers and left one of them slightly injured.
Patras feels 2.5 magnitude earthquake
A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was felt in the city of Patras in the north of the Peloponnese at approximately 9.30pm, Thursday. According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake had its epicenter at a 5km depth and was between Patras and Rio.

Police arrest 2 Interpol wanted men in Patras for drug trafficking
The Greek police arrested a 51 year old truck driver at the port of Patras, in the Peloponnese for drug trafficking. Officers of the regional narcotics units in conjunction with the port authorities apprehended the suspect when the Ancona to Patras ferry, which his freezer truck was on docked. After a search authorities found 143 kilos of hashish stashed in the sides of his palettes.
