Council of Europe to Announce Havel Award Winner
The Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize - which honours outstanding civil society action in defence of human rights - is to be awarded at a special ceremony on the opening day of the autumn plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Monday.
BIRN regional director Gordana Igric is among the three candidates for the award this year.

Gojkovic expects PACE to recognise Serbia's progress

Council of Europe 'Could End' Post-Monitoring Dialogue with Bulgaria
The Council of Europe might choose to drop the post-monitoring dialogue with Bulgaria on the observation of human rights, the newly elected head of CoE's Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) has said.
In his first press briefing after the election, Pedro Agramunt said he would "closely follow" the issue, according to the Bulgarian National Radio.
