Ministry revises tolerable pesticide residue limits in food items
The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry has revised the legally permissible level of pesticide residue allowed in both domestic and imported products, according to a regulatory change published in the Official Gazette.
The new regulation covers particularly domestically produced fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as animal products, legumes, grains, tea and herbal infusions.
Pesticide residue rates drop by 35 pct, says minister
Türkiye has achieved a significant 35 percent reduction in pesticide residue rates over the past years, according to Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı.
Addressing public concerns about food safety, Yumaklı confronted allegations that agricultural products rejected for export due to pesticide residues were being sold in the domestic market.
Ministry seizes 20 tons of illegal pesticide
The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry has seized 20 tons of banned substances imported from China, originally declared for use in paint additives and cosmetics but repackaged as plant protection products free for sale.

The Ministry of Health referred the matter to the Ministry of the Interior in connection with information received from the Ministry of Health on the use of "chlorine dioxide disinfectant" as a means of destroying "all viruses and pathogens" and "for the treatment of various diseases" including COVID-19.
BFSA Bans 24,478 kg of Imported Vegetables over Excessive Pesticide Residues
The Bulgarian Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has identified and banned 24,478 kg of imported vegetables from third countries over excessive pesticide residues, said the Agency's press office, quoted by FOCUS and Darik.

Deadline for submission of environmental plans extended
