Summer Holiday with Excelsior in Bucharest: drama, dance and music each weekend throughout Aug. 30
The Excelsior Theatre House of Bucharest is inviting Bucharesters, May 29 - August 30, to a summer holiday with it, a project that provides outdoor stage plays, dance and music shows as well as film screenings, the theatre reports in a press release.
European poets, musicians to convene in Bucharest, Wed. through Sun.
Poets, musicians and representatives of some of Europe's most prestigious poetry houses will convene Wednesday through Sunday in Bucharest for the Bucharest International Poetry Fair, the National Trade Fair of Poetry Books and the Poetry and Jazz Marathon, organised by the National Museum of Romanian Literature.

Pedestrian Injured as Concrete Chunk Fell Over Him
A man has been injured in Sofia after a part of a baseboard of an underpass fell over him.
The incident occurred around 11.20 am Wednesday close to the Embassy of the Republic of Romania, located on ''M. Eminescu'' Boulevard in Sofia.

2011 Nobel literature laureate Tomas Transtroemer dies: publisher
Swedish poet Tomas Transtroemer, who won the 2011 Nobel Prize for Literature, has died at the age of 83, his publishing house Bonniers said on March 27.
Transtroemer, who suffered a stroke in 1990 which affected his ability to speak, wrote poems full of imagery that addressed nature, history and death.

BELGRADE - The Belgrade Irish Festival (BIF) under the slogan 'BEO-GRAD, ZELENI-GRAD' will be held at several locations in Belgrade from March 13 to 22.
The star of this year's festival, the third in a row, is Irish singer and composer Lisa Hannigan who will perform in the Belgrade Youth Centre on March 21.

BELGRADE -- The Belgrade Irish Festival (BIF) will be held at several locations from March 13 until March 22, the event's organizers have announced.
The event's slogan, "Beo-grad, Zeleni-grad" ("White-City, Green-City"), refers to the capital's name in Serbian (Beograd).
