Freedom House, an American organization dedicated to supporting and defending democracy around the world, publishes its annual report on the state of democracy and civil liberties in countries around the world for 2019.  

Spread of fake news is massive and Bulgarians are exposed to manipulations. Although it has been a member of the EU for more than 10 years, Bulgaria is stagnant or alternating successes and retreats in the independence of the judiciary.

By default, the technology industry has always supported freedom of speech and progressive policies, because in order to be innovative you need to be more open to the world. We are living in difficult times, the old status quo is being shaken and there is a big shift in the world. The world is being divided into two different types of people.

The United States is concerned over Turkey's actions against opposition, U.S. State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert has said. 

When asked to comment on the arrest of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul lawmaker Enis Berberoğlu, Nauert said that "they are trying to gather information."

The Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), one of the leading business organizations in the country, has raised concerns about freedoms in the country following the arrest of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Enis Berberoğlu.

The United States has urged Turkish authorities to "ensure political freedom," free speech and the independence of the judiciary, the U.S. State Department spokesperson said on April 11, responding to a question on the upcoming charter referendum in Turkey.
