NOVI SAD - The deputy group of the New Democratic Party (NDS), founded by the former honorary president of the Democratic Party (DS) Boris Tadic ahead of the snap elections on March 16, was formed today in the Vojvodina parliament.

NOVI SAD- The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) will continue to insist that the Autonomous Province (AP) of Vojvodina be given back its legislative, judicial and executive powers, said LSV leader Nenad Canak in talks with Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport.

NOVI SAD - Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said on Friday that it will be up to Serbian politicians to decide on possible early elections in the province of Vojvodina, as was the case with the recent nationwide elections.

NOVI SAD - There are no legal possibilities for calling early provincial elections in Vojvodina at this time, Istvan Pastor, the president of the assembly of the Serbian province, said on Friday at a meeting with the head of the EU delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport.

DSS official: Koštunica stepped down "permanently"

BELGRADE -- Vojislav Koštunica has left politics "completely and permanently," the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Vice President Slobodan Samaržić has said.

Speaking for B92 TV on Friday, Samardžić stated that the party "will become relevant after a difficult period of time."

BELGRADE- Acting President of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Aleksandar Popovic said on Thursday the DSS election convention could be expected no earlier than June, adding that all the top officials in the DSS, including himself, were to blame for the bad result in the latest elections.
