Orlic meets with Azerbaijani parliament speaker in Baku

BAKU - Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, met with his counterpart Sahiba Gafarova in Baku on Friday.

They said they were pleased to be meeting again after Gafarova's visit to Belgrade in May this year, when they signed a MoU to confirm a commitment to continuing the dynamic cooperation.

Discussing powers granted by Turkey's referendum

Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev recently appointed his wife as the country's first ever vice-president. His elected colleagues greeted this decision with a standing ovation. 

Aliyev won 87 percent of the vote at the last election. He is seen as a "secular" statesman and his wife Mihriban Aliyeva is a modern woman who has dedicated herself to social matters. 

Azeri president appoints wife as first-vice president

Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev has appointed his wife, Mihriban Aliyeva, to the first vice-president post, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 21.

The Azerbaijani Presidency said in a statement that Aliyeva was appointed to the first-vice presidential post according to the 103rd Article of the Azerbaijani constitution.

Vucic and Aliyev: Determined to strengthen ties

BAKU - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic started Tuesday his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan by a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, at which the two officials pointed to determination to strengthen mutual relations.

Vucic and Aliyev discussed cooperation in the field of infrastructure, military industry, energy and agriculture.

Vucic to pay official visit to Azerbaijan on Tuesday

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will start a two-day official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

During the visit, Vucic will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Parliament Speaker Oktay Asadov and Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev.
