Price indices

The consumer price index in May 2019 compared to April 2019 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (May 2019 compared to December 2018) has been 1.8% and the annual inflation in May 2019 compared to May 2018 was 3.5%.

The consumer price index in April 2019 compared to March 2019 was 100.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.5%, reported the National Statistical Institute (NSI). 

The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (April 2019 compared to December 2018) has been 1.7% and the annual inflation in April 2019 compared to April 2018 was 3.7%.

Consumer prices in Romania rose by 0.61pct in April 2019 from the previous month and by 2.75pct from the end of 2018, while the annual inflation rate increased by 4.1pct on food prices advancing 4.98pct, non-food prices 3.66pct, and services 3.83pct, according to data with the National Statistics Institute (INS) released on Monday.

The consumer price index in March 2019 compared to February 2019 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%, according to the National Statistical Institute. 

Household income and expenditure data in the fourth quarter of 2018 triggered mixed responses. As is often the case with such an opportunity, most media have put the accent on the "bad" - faster spending growth (10.5% on an annual basis) than income, although income growth (7.5%) is significant higher than any changes in the price level.

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the consumer price index in January 2019 compared to December 2018 was 100.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.5%.

Consumer prices rose by 0.8pct in January 2019 compared to December last year, while annual inflation stood at 3.3pct, amid a rise in food prices by 3.77pct, in non-food goods by 3.29pct and in services by 2.71pct, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics published on Wednesday.

Consumer prices in Turkey rose 1.06 in January, bringing the annual inflation rate to 20.35 percent, according to the country's statistical authority's statement on Feb. 4.

The consumer price index in December 2018 compared to November 2018 was 100.0%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.0%, reported the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The annual inflation in December 2018 compared to December 2017 was 2.7%.

 In December 2018, there was zero inflation measured by CPI in comparison to the previous month, while the annual inflation, compared to December 2017, stood at 2.7%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said. The annual average inflation in full 2018 compared to last year was 2.8%.
