Free gas to help reduce May inflation: TÜİK
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has said that it will take a government decision on free natural gas into account when calculating the May inflation, and that it is expected to have a strong effect in pushing the inflation index down.

Japan inflation 3.4 percent in April, meeting market expectations
Japan's consumer prices rose 3.4 percent on-year in April, in line with market expectations, government data showed on May 19.
The figure, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, followed a 3.1 percent rise recorded in both March and February.
Inflation expectations decline in May
The end-year inflation expectations in the Central Bank's latest survey of market participants eased from 37.77 in April to 37.17 percent in May.
The annual consumer price inflation further slowed to 43.68 percent in April from 50.5 percent in the previous month, with the CPI advancing 2.39 percent monthly.

Annual inflation eases for sixth consecutive month
Falling for a sixth consecutive month, Türkiye's annual consumer inflation rate slowed to a 16-month low of 43.68 percent in April, according to official data released yesterday.
April's figure, announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), was down from 50.51 percent in March.
The inflation rate was 69.97 percent in April 2022.

The price of food in the U.K. rose at the fastest pace in 45 years last month in, keeping inflation above 10 percent for a seventh straight month amid a cost-of-living crisis that has fueled a wave of strikes by government workers.
Bulgaria: Slowdown of Annual Inflation to 14%
In March, annual inflation in Bulgaria slowed down to a 12-month low of 14.0% compared to 16.0% in February, according to the data of the National Statistical Institute. This is the lowest annual inflation rate since March 2022, when it stood at 12.4%.

Early signs of a price decline in industry
The industrial imports price index recorded a decrease in February 2023 - for the first time since January 2021 - on an annual basis, while a decline was also recorded on a monthly basis.
This element is essentially an indication of price de-escalation, mainly in energy and to a lesser degree in some primary and secondary materials, such as basic metals and paper.
