A lively weekend awaits at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center as the Summer Nostos Festival continues with lots more free stuff for kids, teens and adults alike. On Saturday from 7.30 p.m. eight bands comprising girls aged 8-12 - participants in the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls - will be performing rock covers. That will be followed at 10.15 p.m.

The Gimme Shelter festival of films about musicians and the broader music industry hosted by Gagarin 205 comes to an end on Monday, December 11, with a screening followed by a concert.

From guitars to sketches for iconic album artwork, an immersive Pink Floyd retrospective at London's Victoria and Albert Museum traces the half-century career of the famous British band.

Featuring around 350 objects including instruments, musical scores and album covers, the show is the "biggest exhibition ever" about the group, curator Victoria Broackes said.

Hailed as an up-and-coming force on Italy's underground music scene, Sonic Jesus are coming to Athens for a single gig at Death Disco on Tuesday, March 28, with their psychedelic blend of classic 1960s folk and rock. The show starts at 8.30 p.m. and tickets cost 10 euros (available at www.viva.gr and at the door).

Local act The Mongrelettes take the stage at Tiki Bar on Sunday, March 12, with its own unique cooky blend of 60s punk, Greek pop and psychedelic garage, following a long hiatus during which the band was preparing material for a new album. The gig starts at 9 p.m. and admission costs 5 euros.

Alternative concert organizers Velvet Room are taking over the neoclassical Bangeion Mansion, a former hotel designed by Ernst Ziller, in downtown Omonia on Friday, January 20, for a night of psychedelic and post-punk live music from local acts Acid Barretts, Monochromatic Visions, The Back Door Freaks and The Bonnie Nettles. The action starts at 9.30 p.m. and admission costs 3 euros.
