A truck driver was killed on Tuesday morning after being crushed by his own vehicle in a freak accident in the suburb of Ilioupoli, southeastern Athens.

A majority were allowed to go home after the doctors at the Nis Clinical Center examined them.

The accident happened when a cyclist collided with a parked pickup truck's door, which the driver had opened, attempting to leave the vehicle.

The cyclist - who was also lightly injured in the accident - then fell onto the road.
