No questions asked for tax rebates up to 10,000 euros
The state will disburse income and value-added tax rebates up to 10,000 euros without any probing, according to a set of amendments tabled in Parliament on Thursday.

Brexit to blow 20 bln in EU budget: Commissioner
The European Union faces a 20-billion-euro hole in its annual budget due to Britain's withdrawal and rising costs in issues such as defense, a commissioner said on June 28.
EU Budget Commissioner Guenther Oettinger, of Germany, called on the bloc to improve the efficiency of its spending in the wake of Brexit in March 2019.

Average tax due so far is 620 euros/taxpayer
Just 5 percent of income tax declarations had been submitted up until last Friday, according to the data of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue. A total of 368,537 statements had been filled in, the majority of which require neither a rebate nor the payment of further taxes.

Taxpayers must add each receipt or wait till year-end for discount
Unless they've been keeping a record of their electronic transactions that count toward this year's tax discount, most Greeks won't know if they'll have to pay the taxman more or get a rebate until they are notified.
State debts to third parties come to over 5 bln euros
The state's debts to its suppliers are growing by the month, creating huge problems in the market and for businesses. In February alone the state ran up 243 million euros in fresh arrears, meaning that it now owes a total of 5.05 billion to the market and taxpayers.

The state's debts to its suppliers were augmented by 1.6 billion euros during 2016, according to data issued by the Finance Ministry on Monday.
State revenues above target for January
State revenues came in at 6.43 percent above the budget target in January, according to provisional figures released on Friday by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue.
