 Türkiye announced on Wednesday plans to invite Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to address its parliament.

"If there are no setbacks in the coming days, we will invite Mr. Abbas to the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, where he will present the Palestinian cause before the members of parliament," Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said.

“May God have mercy on my brother Ismail Haniyeh, who became a martyr after this heinous attack,” Erdoğan on X, denouncing the “Zionist barbarity.”

 President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday condemned the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran as "treacherous" and said the zionist barbarism once again will fail to reach its goals.

"This assassination aims to undermine the noble resistance of Gaza and the righteous struggle of Palestinians," Erdoğan said in a statement on X.

About a week before Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan latest threats to intervene militarily in Israel on behalf of the Palestinians, reports indicate that Israel had foiled a major terrorist attach orchestrated by Hamas operatives in Turkey.

Abbas could not accept Ankara's innovation and travel to Türkiye due to health issues, AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik said during a press conference on July 29 in the capital Ankara.

Eurofighter's CEO has stated that Germany blocked Türkiye's attempt to acquire dozens of the German fighter jets.

Ankara sought to procure up to 50 aircraft, but these attempts were thwarted by Germany, Giancarlo Mezzanatto stated during a press briefing at the Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K. on July 28.

A video showing Turkish President Erdoğan slapping a young boy for not kissing his hand has caused an uproar on social media.

The incident took place during a ceremony inaugurating homes that were rebuilt as part of urban transformation in the northern province of Rize.

After his speech, Erdoğan handed over the keys of the homes to the owners.
