Hope grows in burnt forest in northern Greece
Elementary school students planted oak and pine saplings last Friday in a clearing on the edge of Dadia National Park in northern Greece.
The once lush area, now bare, has been repeatedly ravaged by fire.
Their efforts marked a significant recovery after the devastating August 2023 fires that raged for 16 days, causing extensive damage to Dadia, a protected area.

‘Türkiye’s forests produce 44 mln tons of oxygen annually’
Forests in Türkiye produce approximately 44 million tons of oxygen annually, meeting each person's average yearly need of 740 kilograms, Amasya regional forest director has said, urging everyone to protect the country's wildwoods.
