Bulgaria's Film Industry Demands BGN 6.2 M Budget Increase

Bulgaria's film community has issued a declaration calling for an immediate increase by BGN 6 220 000 of the state aid for the film industry.

According to local filmmakers, the increase in the budget for the sector will make it possible for Bulgarian cinema to achieve sustainable development and to contribute to the country's economic growth.

Ashton congratulates Serbia on successful electoral process

BELGRADE - EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton congratulated on Monday the Serbian people on the successful electoral process and announced that she would visit Belgrade soon.

I congratulate the people of Serbia on the elections, Ashton told a news conference after a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday.

BELGRADE -- The French daily Le Figaro has an article comparing reactions in western countries and their media to declarations of independence made by Crimea and Kosovo.

The conclusion the newspaper made is that "officials are applying double standards," while the media tend to "forget."

Government Considers Introduction of Mandatory Labels in Bulgarian

Bulgaria's Government is considering the introduction of mandatory inscriptions in Bulgarian on the packaging of imported goods. 

Currently the labels and instruction manuals in Bulgarian are also mandatory, but some of the goods have additional Bulgarian labels, pasted on the package.
