Petromidia Refinery blast/Fire started at gasoline hydrofining installation; pipe probably cracked
Rompetrol Refinery Director General Felix Crudu-Tesloveanu said on Friday that the fire at Petromidia started at the gasoline hydrofining installation and the ensuing blast generated three more outbreaks, with the probable cause being a cracked pipe. He said that the fire broke out on a platform where there is various industrial equipment and where five people were working.

Bucharest Stock Exchange, down almost 10 pct Monday morning
Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Monday's session down, and 10 minutes in, it recorded transactions worth 14.23 million lei (2.9 million euros). The main BET index, indicating the trend of the 15 most liquid companies, registered a decrease of 9.79 pct, to 8,520.67 points, and the BET-Plus index, which shows the trend of the 37 most liquid titles from BVB, was down 9.56 pct.
Chinese Seal Major Romanian Energy Acquisition
Romania on Thursday approved China Energy Company Limited's purchase of a majority stake in KMG International, by which it will obtain control of the Romanian energy company Rompetrol Rafinare.
Kazahstan-based KMG International owns 48.1 per cent of Rompetrol Rafinare, with the Romanian state owning another 44.7 per cent. Other share holders hold the rest.
