Bulgaria's Competition Regulator Inspects Oil & Gas Association

The Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) carried on Tuesday out a sudden inspection of the Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association based in Sofia.

The association is a non-governmental organisation protecting the interests of producers, distributors and retailers of oil and gas products.

Bulgaria's Anti-Trust Body Launches Probe of Fuel Retailers, Oil Refinery

Bulgaria's anti-trust regulator has launched a probe of seven petrol and diesel retailers over suspected price-fixing.

A separate investigation of potential abuse of dominant wholesale market position has been launched against Bulgaria's sole oil refinery Lukoil Neftochim Burgas, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said in a statement on Thursday.

Bulgaria's Antitrust Watchdog Launches Sector Analysis of Fuel Retailing Market

The Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) has launched a sector analysis of the fuel retailing market in Bulgaria.

The watchdog will check for cartel agreements or abuse of dominant position.

In 2011 the antitrust watchdog approved a sector analysis of the gasoline and diesel fuel markets in Bulgaria spanning the period 2009-2011.

Romanian Court Rejects Oil Company's Insolvency Request

The Bucharest County court on Tuesday rejected the request for insolvency filed by the Romanian oil company Rompetrol SA, which is part of the Netherlands-based oil and gas group KMG International.

The reasoning of the judges had not been made public so far, but Rompetrol has seven days to appeal.

The negotiations between KazMunayGaz and the Romanian state over Rompetrol Refining will end in July, but the payment of 200 million dollars for a 26.6 pct stake in the refinery cannot be made in 2015, because 6 to 7 months are required to take all the necessary steps after the completion of the negotiations, Azamat Zhangulov, senior vice president of KMG International, said on Tuesday.

KMG International to divest Zalau-based industrial fittings producer Rominserv Valves Iaifo

KMG International, owner of the Zalau-based producer of cast iron and steel industrial fittings Rominserv Iaifo Valves, plans to sell this asset to a partner interested in continuing the production activity; company representatives assured that the divestment decision will not imply layoffs or other restructuring moves.
