Russia's Sberbank to lend $800 mln for Akkuyu NPP project
Russia's largest lender Sberbank will provide loans of $800 million for the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power plant (NPP), Akkuyu, the bank announced on Nov. 17.
The seven-year loan will be provided to the project company Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, a subsidiary of Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, according to Sberbank.
Assembly of Akkuyu NPP’s first unit to be finished by end of year
The first unit of Turkey's first nuclear power plant will be taken online in 2023 in accordance with the initial planning, Dmitriy Romanets, the deputy director of construction works at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), told Demirören News Agency.
Nuke plant construction ‘continuing as planned’
The construction works for the first nuclear power plant of Turkey is continuing as planned and its first unit will start operations in 2023, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez has said.
"In Akkuyu, things are running as planned," Dönmez said during a webinar organized by Sabancı Üniversity's Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate (IICEC) yesterday.

Rosatom Launches 3D Printed Valves for Pulmonary Ventilation
Rusatom-Additive Technologies (RusAt), part of Rosatom's fuel company TVEL, has produced prototypes and is ready to launch a vent for venturi valves used in artificial pulmonary ventilation apparatus. The need for them has increased many times because of the coronavirus pandemic. RusAT's production facilities allow the production of about 300 products per week.
