G20 leaders gathering in Rome for their first meeting since the start of the pandemic face a global recovery hampered by a number of obstacles: an energy crisis driving higher fuel and utility prices, new outbreaks of Covid-19 and blocked supply chains.

Pope Francis and other religious leaders issued a joint appeal today to the organizers and participants of next month's UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). Milan – Environment Minister Andrej Vizjak attended a three-day Pre-COP meeting in Milan whose participants tried to bring their positions closer together ahead of the COP26 summit in Glasgow. He noted the importance of an agreement being reached at the summit as the only way to limit heating of the atmosphere and negative impact of climate change.

Romania's Association for Clean Energy and Fighting Climate Change will hold a roundtable conference jointly with the European Commission to discuss the potential of renewable energy in the Black Sea at COP 26, the association's chairman, Razvan Nicolescu, told AGERPRES on Monday. "We have gladly accepted the European Commission's proposal to hold an event in Glasgow together.

The government measures for when the economy emerges from the pandemic will target companies that have suffered as a result of the coronavirus and require some support to return to sustainability, rather than those that were already problematic before the crisis and don't have any long-term chances of survival.

"We support families with children up to 14 years of age by providing them with the right to monthly targeted assistance during emergencies.

The aid will amount to one minimum wage, "Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during an online meeting of the Council of Ministers.
