The partial disaster situation remains in Elin Pelin after the torrential rains that flooded Northwestern Bulgaria in recent days. In Vratsa region, where the situation was critical, the levels of the Skat and Ogosta rivers began to drop.

An independent study, presented in the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, has identified Bulgaria together with Greece, Hungary and Italy as a country at risk of concentration of media ownership and political control over editorial policy, reported bTV.

According to the authors of the study, the risk of political control over media in Bulgaria is 79%.

Heavy rain in the northwestern town of Mizia caused some ten houses to collapse and necessitated the evacuation of around 500 people.
