Mytilineos Energy & Metals and Compagnie de Saint-Gobain on Thursday announced the signing of a private wire power purchase agreement (PPA) relating to the energy generated from a 4.9-megawatt solar farm in Italy.
The solar power plant will reach commercial operation in mid-2023 and it will be built on the premises of Saint-Gobain's historical factory in Vidalengo, Bergamo.

Gas, electricity prices hiked
Natural gas and electricity prices have been hiked, authorities have announced, citing rising costs globally.
Electricity prices for households were increased by 20 percent, effective Sept. 1, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) said in a statement.
Under the new tariff, households will pay 173.5 Turkish Liras/100 kilowatts per hour.

Cement maker Salonit Anhovo taps solar energy
Anhovo – A new solar power plant, the first of several planned, was launched on Thursday on the roof of cement maker Salonit Anhovo. The factory, which has faced pollution accusations in the past, said all the electricity generated by the 2.23 megawatt solar power plant will immediately be used in production.

Govt to build “giant solar power plants” for households
Ljubljana – The government is gearing up to increase the capacity of production of electricity from solar energy, with Prime Minister Robert Golob announcing a plan to set up “giant solar power plants” available to households in the next three years.
