Student associations have gathered for an overnight protest in front of the rectorate of the University of Athens, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian people and seeking to align their voices with the international student movement. 

Students started to set up their tents after 8 p.m. at Propylaea, in Athens, and in Thessaloniki, in front of the White Tower.

Across the United States, a groundswell of student protests in solidarity with Palestinians is gaining momentum, sparking both cancellations of classes and clashes with authorities on campuses nationwide.

Authorities at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens have ordered a sworn administrative enquiry into an incident on Monday where some college administrators and students prevented online examinations from taking place by pulling the plug on a computer server.

Protesting students and professors from the University of Tirana staged a  march in the centre of Tirana, urging the government to withdraw a proposed reform of higher education, calling it a sell-out to private sector interests and harmful for public universities.
