Russia has informed Turkey that the violation of Turkish airspace near the Syrian border on Oct. 3 was due to a ?navigation error,? according to Russian sources. 

The Russian Embassy in Damascus, Syria has come under mortar fire, stated the Russian Foreign Ministry Monday. The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement condemning the attack on the diplomatic mission, while it called on the international community to take a clear standpoint on ‘this terrorist act.

Two pilots were killed when a strategic bomber with seven people on board crashed in far eastern Russia on July 14, the defence ministry said, the latest in a string of military aircraft accidents.

Russian military aircraft were scrambled to head off a US warship that was acting "aggressively" in the Black Sea, state news agency RIA reported on May 30, but the Pentagon denied any unusual behavior.
