Turkey on May 7 remembered Haldun Taner, pioneer of Turkish cabaret theater, on his 34th death anniversary.
Taner, also a renowned playwright and short story writer, was born on May 16, 1915, in Istanbul to a family of bureaucrat Ahmet Selahattin Bey and Seza Hanım.

Istanbul Jazz Festival to feature over 300 artists
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) for the 27th time this year, the "Istanbul Jazz Festival" will meet music enthusiasts between June 27 and July 14.
The festival, which will host over 300 local and foreign artists, will be held in 27 different venues of Istanbul.
