The annual Technopolis Jazz Festival, a summer staple in the capital for nearly two decades and an event that has proven instrumental in shaping the local jazz scene, returns to the municipal cultural complex in Gazi for its 19th outing from Monday, May 27, to Friday, May 31. The event comprises three acts each night, starting at 9 p.m., as well as parallel events.

The City of Athens has organized a morning of fun and entertainment at its Technopolis cultural complex, with activities, arts and crafts workshops, costume-making and a parade, a magic show, an interactive performance, and much more. The event starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. and admission is free of charge.

St Paul's Sessions, a popular concert series hosted by the Anglican Church of the same name which is renowned for its acoustics, presents multi-instrumentalist Moritz Von Oswald on March 13.

Thousands of records running the gamut from blues, jazz and funk to Latin, rock, pop and other genres will be on sale from October 5 to 7 at the annual Vinyl Market at the Technopolis cultural complex, with DJ sets providing a musical backdrop. Opening hours are 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.

German artists Erol Sarp, a trained jazz pianist, and Lucas Vogel, a technician who constructs synthesizers, create a sound that combines classical composition with modern, experimental production and sound design.

Celebrating European Music Day, the Six Dogs stage/bar is holding a street party on tiny Avramiotou, starting with dub and reggae to ease guests into the mood as the party starts at 5 p.m. and ending sometime well after midnight with house and techno, in what promises to be a celebration of dance music and the DJ culture.
