Israel's Arabs divided by film's portrayal of changing world

A new award-winning film about Arab women battling their conservative society has touched off a real-life battle: The municipality of a major Arab city in Israel has called for a boycott of the film, and the film's director says she has received death threats for her unflinching portrayal of sex, drugs, parties, homosexuality and rape in her community.

Red Star beat Maccabi in Tel Aviv to extend winning streak

TEL AVIV - Red Star Belgrade beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 71-67 on the road in Euroleague Basketball Round 18 on Thursday to extend their winning streak in the competition.

Red Star won thanks to an excellent 9-0 run in the last four minutes of the fourth quarter, with Ognjen Kuzmic (8 points, 9 rebounds) once again emerging as the key figure.

The Red Axes DJ duo is traveling from Tel Aviv to Athens to perform in the sixth installment of a special series on young talent called "The Kids are Alright" at Six Dogs in downtown Athens. Last time Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi played their psychedelic beats at the venue, the party went on for four straight hours, until 7.30 a.m.

Israeli ambassador to Ankara to start duty

Eitan Na'eh, the new Israeli ambassador to Ankara, will start his duty on Dec. 1, while Turkey's Ambassador to Israel, Kemal Ökem, will be in Tel Aviv in the first week of December, according to sources. 

Turkey and Israel decided to appoint the ambassadors' mutually, following the resolution of a major diplomatic crisis. 

Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport puts Tel Aviv in "Palestine"

The Israeli embassy in Serbia has condemned and described as "unacceptable" a recent incident at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, Beta agency is reporting.

It concerns passengers traveling from Belgrade to Tel Aviv being told ahead of a recent flight that "boarding had begun for the flight to Palestine."
