The T-925 Heavy Class Utility Helicopter, which was unveiled at Türkiye's 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) and is capable of carrying both weapons and passengers, will take flight for the first time next year, says the general manager of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ).

Managers of Turkey's largest defense companies underlined the importance of research and development activities during a panel in Turkey's major defense event.

Speaking at SAHA EXPO, managers said their firms allocate a significant amount of budget for R&D activities.

The four-day event kicked off on Nov. 10. 

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has inked a deal with Ukraine's Motor Sich to purchase 14 heavy class attack helicopter engines.

According to a statement from TAI on June 29, the deliveries will be completed by 2025 with the first two engines to be handed over in September 2022.
