Turkish Airlines, Turkey's flagship airline, has firmed up a commitment to purchase 20 additional A321neo aircraft, Airbus said in a press release Dec. 1. 

The airline already has 72 A321neos on order and is again renewing its confidence in the A321neo as the aircraft of choice to boost its expansion, according to the press release.

Turkish Airlines (THY) ranks first in connecting Africa with the rest of the world, a senior official of Turkey?s flag carrier said on Sept. 28.

Company Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Temel Kotil also added the airline was the ?most effective and active? company in the same interview with Anadolu Agency.

Turkish Airlines CEO Temel Kotil has said ticket prices will drop once Istanbul?s under-construction new airport is completed. 

?We believe our costs will decline when the third airport is completed and this will lead to slashed ticket prices. Declining oil prices have already positively affected ticket prices,? Kotil said. 

Turkish Airlines and Turkish State Railways signed a cooperation agreement on April 21, laying the ground for combined transport operations and the joint training of staff.
