Trakia motorway

Increased pre-holiday traffic is expected today on the Hemus and Trakia highways, at the exits of Sofia, as well as on the E-79 international road, bTV reports.

According to Road Traffic Police,  300,000 vehicles are on the move just from the capital to different parts of the country.

In 24 districts in the country, a yellow or orange code is declared for a dangerous weather. The warning code is orange for five districts in Northern Bulgaria and yellow for others 19. Because of the snowfall the roads and especially the high mountain passes are risky, reported BNT.

16 were the injured passengers, after last night a bus just after 10 pm crashed to a ditch of Trakia motorway. This is reported by the Bulgarian National Television. 13 of them were taken to the Yambol hospital and three were transported to Karnobat. The bus, which overturned in the ditch, was operating on the daily Sofia-Sunny Beach line that goes through Burgas.

A Turkish truck loaded with chocolate and biscuits crashed on the Trakia highway near Plovdiv, reports mediapool. 

The incident happened about 5 am on the 153-kilometer of the highway. In the area, visibility has been reduced to less than 100 meters in both directions due to dense fog.

Repair of the Trakia motorway in the Plovdiv - Stara Zagora section will start in November. This was announced by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov to journalists in Plovdiv.

Under favorable weather conditions, the repair should be completed within three weeks of the start.

From tomorrow begins the repair of the Eastern tangent of Sofia. The section of Trakia Motorway will be repaired to the North Speed ​​Tangent, API reported.

Expansion of the Trakia highway with additional lane from Sofia to Plovdiv is contemplated by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

"I think how the Toll system could work on the Trakia highway to Plovdiv, we should make it 6 lanes," he told in Varna, where he participates in the tenth edition of the Summer University of the Youth GERB, FOCUS News Agency report.

Closure of one of the the tunnels on the Trakia highway but it will be only in one direction. From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Trayanovi Vrata's traffic will take place in the Sofia tube. The reason is that in the other - for Plovdiv, the passage will be limited due to an emergency repair of the lighting, reported the Road Infrastructure Agency.
