Traffic of All Vehicles Along Trakia Highway Restored

Traffic of all vehicles along the Trakia highway in the direction of Burgas in the section of the hub Zimnitsa - Burgas has been restored.

Drivers must pay attention and stick to the speed limit of 80 km/h, warned the Road Infrastructure Agency.

Traffic of all vehicles through the Obzor pass has been restored as well.

Closed Trakia Motorway Sections Partly Reopened

Bulgarian authorities have decided to reopen Trakia motorway in the section between Zimnitsa transportation hub and Karnobat, after tough road conditions disrupted traffic for several days.

The stretch between Zimnitsa and Karnobat is now open in both directions.

However, a speed limit has been imposed of 60 km/h.

Bulgaria's Burgas Cut Off Due To Heavy Snow, Strong Winds

Heavy snowfall and strong winds cut off all approaches to Burgas on Tuesday.

Initially, early in the morning on Tuesday, traffic was restricted in the section of Trakia highway from Zimnitsa hub (in the region of Yambol) to Burgas.

Later, at noon, the section Yambol-Sredets - an alternative route - was also closed.

The fire has engulfed an area of 100 decares. A unit of 6 firefighters is on the spot.

Traffic has been blocked in both directions between the 5th and the 13th kilometer.

Road Police units are re-routing traffic from the highway through Novi han.
