Tickets now apply in Thessaloniki metro
On the third day of its operation, tickets have been introduced to the Thessaloniki metro.
A basic fare costs 60 cents and is valid for 70 minutes, while a day ticket costs 2.50 euros.
Travel cards are available for €16 for one month, €45 for three months and €85 euros for six months.

The validation of the card or ticket becomes mandatory every time you board the public transport in Sofia. A fine of BGN 3 is envisaged for the passengers, even if they have a regular transport document.
Old tickets discontinued on Athens transport as of Thursday
As of Thursday, old paper public transport tickets can no longer be used.
Commuters are now able to renew electronic 90-minute tickets at machines, as is the case with monthly passes.
Meanwhile electronic barriers will be activated on Monday so that no one without a ticket can get to train platforms.
Minister blames data protection agency for e-ticket woes
In an interview with state television on Saturday, Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis put the blame for long queues by commuters seeking to apply for the new electronic transport card on the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) and said that the new system will be fully up and running by November 15, the date when the old paper tickets will stop being valid.

Old ticket system extended to November 15 on Athens transport
Commuters in the Greek capital will be able to use their old punch-tickets and October passes until November 15, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) said on Tuesday, revising the date from November 10 as announced earlier.
The extension of the old system was granted in response to the long queues that have been forming at issuing booths for the new electronic cards.

Bulgaria's Burgas to Launch E-Ticket System for Public Transport in June
The Bulgarian city of Burgas will launch a modern electronic ticket system for its public transport in June.
Passengers will be allowed to change several buses at no additional cost if the total time of their journey does not exceed 45 minutes.
