TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, announced the winners of its Travelers’ Choice awards for Romantic Hotels that include two Greek hotels.

Anastasis Apartments in Imerovigli, Santorini and Lindos Blu on the island of Rhodes are among the best romantic hotels.

Travel website TripAdvisor has launched a “Travel Timeline” feature so that users of the mobiel app can log and share their experiences. The feature creates a timeline of places travelers have visited and photos from each location that can be viewed in chronological order as a route on a map. It is private to each user, but travelers can edit their timeline and easily share their snapshots.

An online campaign has been started titled, “Santorini, year-round destination”, and will run for three weeks in an effort to draw more people to the island from countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austraia, Scandinavia, etc. The advertising campaign will focus on some of the most popular travel sites such as tripadvisor, lonelyplanet, expedia, airbnb and others.

TripAdvisor released their findings on the best destinations on the rise in Europe and Oia in Santorini ranked 7th.

If you are planning to go on holiday in the new year, you may want to consider travelling to these destinations, which have been growing in popularity over the years.

Porto in Portugal is on the top of the list followed by Moscow and Brighton.

The Greek island of Rhodes was selected as the first European destination to host the Destination Academy with TripAdvisor (DATA) event.

TripAdvisor has announced its annual Travelers’ Choice awards for the world’s best restaurants.

This year’s awards honor the top 25 restaurants in the world, while dedicated lists were also compiled for Asia, Canada, Europe, India, South America, South Pacific, the UK and the US.

Istanbul Modern has been awarded the 2015 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor, one of the world's leading travel website companies. 

The Certificate of Excellence has been given for five years by the company on behalf of the worldwide travelers and is awarded to properties that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.

Athens Poseidon Hotel located on Poseidonos Avenue on the Athens seafront at Paleo Faliro was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for 2015 following the accolades of its guests. The prestigious award is hard to come by as only 10% of businesses on TripAdvisor are privy to consistently brilliant traveler reviews.

The Acropolis has acquired 21st place of the top monuments in the world, according to users of the Tripadvisor travel website.
