Wounded bustard found in Tunceli
A bustard, the world's heaviest bird species that can fly, which is rarely seen in Turkey, has been found wounded in the eastern province of Tunceli. The bird had a broken leg and was taken into treatment at the Elazığ Veterinary Faculty.

Turkish police detain mayors of two southern provinces
Turkish police detained one of the co-mayors of the eastern province of Siirt, as well as the co-mayors of Tunceli province early on Nov. 16 as part of a terrorism-linked probe.
Turkish police detain 55 HDP and DBP members in southeast
Police detained 55 members of the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and its local affiliate the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), including senior officials, in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır early on Oct. 11.
Police raided addresses belonging to party members in an operation conducted across several districts in Diyarbakır, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Mayor vows to sell 'communist honey' across Turkey
A local mayor from the Turkish Communist Party (TKP) in eastern Turkey plans to release his municipality's own home-grown "communist honey" onto the market and sell it across Turkey.
"Those who buy the communist honey will taste good quality honey. They will get a taste of us and will become more communist," Ovacık Mayor Fatih Maçoğlu told Doğan News Agency.

Bones of Dersim massacre victims reburied in ceremony

Former Tunceli deputy Kamer Genç died of cancer on Jan. 22. He was 75.
Known for his outspoken character, Genç had been receiving cancer treatment for a while.
Born in 1940 in Tunceli, Genç studied economics and administrative science in Ankara.
