Passengers of an airplane prepared to take off from Istanbul to Turkish Cyprus experienced a panic of terror before takeoff on Dec. 18.

Turkey's economy saw an annual rise in total turnover in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Dec. 16.

Pegasus Airlines, Turkey's leading low-budget carrier, has reported that it served a total of 25.1 million passengers in January-October.

Turkish Cypriot police say two 46-year-old men have been killed after their small, fixed-wing training aircraft crashed at an airport in the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus.

Police said the aircraft crashed shortly after noon Tuesday near the terminal at Gecitkale airport, also known in Greek as Lefkoniko, while on a training flight.

Istanbul's Kemerburgaz City Forest ("Kemerburgaz Kent Ormanı" in Turkish) was inaugurated with an official ceremony on Oct. 26.
