Gaddafi Son Saif al-Islam Sentenced to Death

Saif al-Islam, a son of Libya's slain leader Col Muammar Gaddafi, has been sentenced to death over war crimes a Libyan court believes he committed during the 2011 uprising.

Eight other senior members of Gaddafi's regime have also been sentenced including former intelligence chief Abdullah Senussi.

Saif al-Islam's death sentence will be performed by a firing squad.

Montenegro Clamps Down on Blood Diamond Trade

Montenegro is adopting a special regulation on the diamond trade to bring the country in line with EU and other international directives.

Although Montenegro has no official data on the diamond trade, nor a developed jewelery market, it has been obliged to revise regulations on diamond trading as part of the European Union accession process.

Russia's Waiver of Iran Missile Ban Prompts US Concern

The move by Moscow to lift an embargo on supplying Iran with S-300 air defense missile systems is "unhelpful", a Pentagon official has said.

On Sunday Russia announced it would renounce a ban on selling the equipment to Iran after substantial progress was marked in talks of world powers with Iran over the country's controversial nuclear program earlier in April.
