Trifon Zarezan, also known as Vintner's Day, is a cherished Bulgarian national holiday celebrated on February 14th, coinciding with Saint Valentine's Day. While Saint Valentine's Day is widely associated with romance and love, Trifon Zarezan holds a unique place in Bulgarian culture, honoring Saint Tryphon, the patron saint of vineyards, winegrowers, and gardeners.

Both online orders and sales at stores during the week when the Valentine's Day is celebrated, are expected to increase strongly, according to the representatives from the retail industry.

Nuriye Kayalı chose a calf over a diamond ring for Valentine's Day present 10 years ago. Now, she owns a farm.

"I thought I would lose the ring while working on the farm. A calf, on the other hand, was a window of opportunity," the 42-year-old woman told Anadolu Agency.

She now owns a farm of 30 cows which she calls 'love'.
