The Greek National Opera presents a revival by Rory Fazan of a Royal Opera House production of Giuseppe Verdi's "Simon Boccanegra," which was first staged in London on November 12, 1991. Directed by the legendary Elijah Moshinsky, that production was inspired by the art and architecture of Renaissance. For the revival, Fazan works with set designer Michael Yeargan and costume designer Peter J.

Circus performers live, raise children in a caravan roaming Turkey

Fifty-two years after its first production of one of the most famous operas in the French repertory, the Greek National Opera returns to Jules Massenet's "Manon," in a new reading by Thomas Moschopoulos, who addresses the theme of ambivalence and takes inspiration from the present, as well as from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Met's 'La Traviata' | Athens & Thessaloniki | December 15 & 16
The Athens and Thessaloniki concert halls will be screening the Metropolitan Opera's production of Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" this weekend, conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin and directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer. Soprano Diana Damrau plays the tragic heroine, Violetta, and tenor Juan Diego Florez is Alfredo, her hapless lover.

Sonya Yoncheva has announced the premiere of a new movie based on her life entitled "Sonya Yoncheva: Sempre Libera."
The new film by Ema Konstantinova and Georgi Toshev is set to premiere at the 32nd Kinomania Film Festival in Sofia on Nov. 26.

We have supposedly understood why we went bankrupt and made some effort to change in the past 10 years, but a crucial step has been missed: For Greece to finally emerge from the crisis completely, the private sector also needs to undergo a radical overhaul. There is so much that is seen and heard - but goes unproven - indicating that there is a whole lot wrong with the private sector.

'Troy,' first Turkish opera by foreign composer
It took three-and-a-half months for conductor and composer Bujor Hoinic to start the production of the opera "Troy" from scratch and complete it. "Troy" is gearing up to become one of the most important productions of Turkey's State Opera and Ballet (DOB) this year.
