We will head into August 15 with heat and windy weather, according to meteorologists, with the weather conditions favoring the start and spread of fire.

North winds in the Aegean Sea will reach 6 to 7 and on Sunday possibly even 8 Beaufort, keeping the temperature in the windward areas at bearable levels.

The weather for the weekend is set to be predominantly sunny. Tonight, clear skies will dominate, though Central and Eastern Bulgaria might see some temporary cloud cover. In these regions, there could be occasional rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Intensifying winds, warmth and instability in the midday and afternoon hours on the mainland, especially in the mountains, will be the main features of the weather in the coming days.

Today, sunny weather will dominate across Bulgaria, with occasional increases in cloud cover over the northwestern regions. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 32° and 37°, with Sofia reaching around 32°. Atmospheric pressure is close to the monthly average, and will slightly decrease throughout the day.

Thursday will continue to experience warm temperatures, with maximums reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius. The day will begin with minimum temperatures ranging from 16 to 21 degrees across the country, and up to 21 degrees on the coast. It will be sunny in the morning, but clouds will start to develop over the mountains in the afternoon, although no precipitation is expected.

Mainly clear weather is expected for today, Wednesday. Clouds will develop in the midday and afternoon hours on the mainland and there will be local rain or rain, mainly in the mountains.

The winds will blow from the north, in the west 3 to 4 and in the east 4 to 5, in the Aegean Sea locally 6 to 7 Beaufort.

Today, Bulgaria will enjoy sunny weather, accompanied by light to moderate winds blowing from the north. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 29°C and 34°C, with Sofia reaching around 30°C, according to the NIMH forecast.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a yellow warning for strong winds in ten regions, primarily in Northern Bulgaria.

Local showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur at noon – afternoon in the mountains and possibly in the morning hours in areas of central Macedonia, eastern Thessaly and northern Evia, while in the remaining areas generally clear weather is expected.

Without the expected heatwave, the first 10 days of August will pass, but today temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees in some areas before dropping tomorrow, bringing instability.
